The Latest in Steel Service Trucks from Knapheide
One of multiple vehicles showcased at the latest NTEA Work Truck Week was this Ford F-350 chassis cab upfitted with a Knapheide Steel Service Body. Take a look at the features, options and add-ons behind this build.
Inside Our Ford Work Truck
At this year’s event, Knapheide put its Steel Service Body on display and at first glance, it might look like the classic setup that’s been the go-to work truck bed for over 50 years. But look closer, and you’ll find some smart, not-so-obvious upgrades designed to boost performance, safety and security.
This build was equipped with Knapheide’s compartment power locks and lighting, along with upgraded double-spring door retainers (release TBD). It also introduced new Milwaukee® PACKOUT™ adapter plates (coming soon), making it easy to secure the popular modular storage system. PACKOUT is a favorite among tradespeople for a reason — it’s a rugged, stackable lineup of toolboxes, bins, and organizers that snap together to keep gear secure yet ready to roll.
The truck didn’t stop there. It also featured a few standout add-on equipment and accessories, including chrome wheel simulators for a clean, polished look and a Brandmotion 360-degree camera system. That means better visibility all around, helping drivers eliminate blind spots, avoid obstacles and confidently handle tight, low-speed maneuvers.

All shelves are height adjustable, hold up to 250 pounds each, and come with removable dividers spaced every 4 inches. Bumper & HitchBumper & Hitch
This hitch recess bumper has treaded steps and a durable KnapLiner coating that protects it from scratches, dents, corrosion, chemicals, and everyday wear. Its design provides better access to the Class V receiver hitch, which can tow trailers up to 21,000 pounds.
Marker LightsMarker Lights
Required on vehicles of this size, these lights are placed on the rear corners, front panels, and bumper to help other drivers judge the vehicle’s large size, especially at night or in poor weather.
TailgateTailgate
This tailgate features a slam-lock closure, a one-handed center release handle, and a flat inner surface that can be used as a workbench.
TaillightsTaillights
These taillights use bright LED lights for stop, turn, and backup signals, include built-in reflectors for better visibility, and can be set to strobe with eight different pattern options.
Paddle LatchesPaddle Latches
These paddle latches make it easy to open and close compartment doors. A protective housing inside helps prevent damage to the latch from shifting cargo. You can lock them with the included key or choose optional power locks if needed.
