In March 2025, Knapheide rolled out its second-generation fixed van shelving made from durable spangled galvanneal steel. It’s easier than ever to customize with simplified sizing, tons of accessories and packages built for both general use and specific trades, all while keeping pricing competitive. Want the full scoop? Check out the original blog post.
Since then, even more has been added to its cargo van product lineup including:
Chevy BrightDrop Van Shelving

Originally launched by General Motors in 2021 and rebranded under the Chevrolet name in August 2024, the BrightDrop electric vans can now be upfitted with Knapheide shelving built specifically for the shorter 400 and the longer 600 models. These vans stand out with sliding cab doors instead of side cargo doors, incredibly spacious interior and a rear roll-up door in place of traditional swing-out doors.
Knapheide van shelving packages are designed to make choosing the right setup easy while maximizing cargo space. For delivery use, folding van shelving is available to help support cargo that varies in shape and size day-to-day. And since the BrightDrop doesn’t have side cargo doors, you get longer shelving options than most other vans allow, too.
For service professionals, fixed van shelving packages are also available. You can start with a base setup and add storage and accessories as needed or go with a pre-configured packages tailored for electricians, plumbers, HVACR techs and general service providers.
Because the cargo areas are nearly the same size, other popular electric van models like the Ford E-Transit, Ram ProMaster EV and Mercedes-Benz eSprinter can have the same shelving installed on them as their fuel-powered iteration.

Van Ladder Racks
Knapheide released its next generation of van ladder racks for Ford Transit, Chevy Express, GMC Savana, Ram ProMaster and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter cargo vans in July 2025. Various designs are available that may include end stops, clamping and drop-down mechanisms. And while they may look similar to previous models, the drop-down ladder racks specifically now come with some smart user-friendly upgrades:
- The drop-down slide feature is now available for all van models, not just high-roof ones.
- The locking system was lowered, so you can operate it without stretching or climbing.
- A simplified driveshaft that uses a hex design with a ratcheting wrench on a removable handle, allowing for either street or curb side usage.
Van Workbenches and Vises

If you need a solid surface for hands-on work or to keep tools and parts steady while you’re working, Knapheide added new workbenches and an optional vise to its van equipment lineup in October 2025.
The workbenches are 14" deep and come in two widths: 38" and 56". You can choose between a 1.75" wood butcherblock top or a 14-gauge galvanized steel surface. The base is made from 18-gauge galvanized steel and includes a shelf with a removable front lip for storage boxes, end panels with holes for mounting accessories and a cross brace for extra stability.
The vise is built from gray cast iron with a tubular steel frame. It features steel top jaws, a 360-degree locking swivel base and an anvil surface. It mounts securely to either workbench type using four posts.
Van Cab Consoles
Starting in April 2025, Knapheide began offering cab consoles for Ford Transit, Chevy Express, GMC Savana, Ram ProMaster and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter cargo vans. These consoles mount between the front seats and give the crew a secure spot to store tools, electronics, paperwork and other valuables.
Built from 18-gauge galvanized steel, each console includes a lockable latch with keys, a top lid with a built-in notebook clip, dividers inside for laptops, notebooks or other narrow items and a passthrough hole for electronic wiring and ventilation.
