General Description:

Manage activities of inside and outside sales team.  Develop and implement plans to meet sales and chassis reassignment goals.  Oversee quoted selling prices and sales margins to maximize operating profit.  Work with sales team to develop conquest accounts.  Maintain customer relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop long-term relationships with the people responsible for work truck purchasing decisions at key target accounts, including third party influencers like dealerships and fleet management companies.
  2. Develop an extensive knowledge of each key account’s business plan and its strategies for work truck solutions and equipment technologies.
  3. Create active sales programs to key accounts for Knapheide and related products and accessories including service, parts and training.
  4. Manage development of specifications, bids and quotes in support of selling efforts in accordance with company processes and procedures by working with inside sales staff, technical staff and product experts within the company and its vendors.
  5. Support the company’s marketing and sales efforts by coordinating, working local, regional and national trade shows and other events as required.
  6. Organize, manage, and work all (Sales & Training) KTEC, OEM, and Customer events.
  7. Provide sales team onsite (joint contacting) coaching and support for customer contacting
  8. Manage Sales and Sales support staff activities
  9. Approve and track vacation and personal time off request
  10. Coordinate staff training of sales, TE Quote and Knapheide and Products
  11. Maintain weekly sales staff meetings
  12. Provide over site on quote reviews
  13. Maintain monthly conquest reviews
  14. Follow up on 60+ day collections (liaison for difficult cases)
  15. Follow up on Distressed body and chassis inventories
  16. Develop individualized promotions to achieve sales
  17. Follow up on warranty issues (liaison for difficult cases)
  18. Adhere to company safety guidelines
  19. Regular and predictable attendance.
  20. Ability to interact with others.

Education/Certification Requirements

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Minimum four year college degree or equivalent job-related experience
  3. Minimum five years related work experience.

Preferred Training and Experience:

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  2. Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
  3. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  4. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

Physical Demands: 

  1.  Normal standing, walking, bending and twisting as necessary to perform job duties.
  2.  Exposed to normal seasonal temperatures.
  3.  Lifting/moving up to 50 pounds
