snow accumulating on knapheide body

This summer’s heat has been sweltering in parts of the United States, which should come as no surprise since the Earth literally experienced its hottest day ever recorded earlier this July. With that said, if what’s to come this winter isn’t exactly what’s at the forefront of your mind, it’s totally understandable. But, while it may not seem like a pressing issue, it’s actually the perfect time for you to get prepared by taking stock of, repairing and replacing your snow and ice control equipment.

Think about it.

When the snow starts flying, people start buying. And, if these past few years have taught us anything, it’s to be prepared for even the unexpected.

Don’t be left out in the cold, unprepared.

While no one can perfectly predict when the first snow will fall, we have a general idea based on the seasons. But what about those early snows that come unexpectedly out of the blue?

As you continue to hold off on fixing or replacing your equipment, you run the risk of finding yourself unprepared and possibly incapable of providing your services when that winter weather comes.

By starting your inspection, maintenance and replacement cycle in the summer, you can be sure that you’ll be prepared, no matter what. Who knows? You may even gain extra business when others are unable to render their services because of inoperable equipment.

And, think about the selection.

Let’s say you do wait until the winter weather is just around the corner. Often times, that’s when everyone else is buying and repairing their equipment, too. At that point, you don’t have the luxury of time on your side. You’re limited to what’s in stock, or risk losing business.

There’s nothing worse than being stuck with an ill-fitting solution because there were no other options available at the time. Starting early will give you the time you need to carefully evaluate the size, shape and material options of your needed equipment, like plows, to determine what’s best for your regular jobs and clientele, as well as for any areas you’re looking to expand. In the summer, you're also more likely to find these items in stock, or will at the very least have ample time to order the equipment in.
